Research focusing on populations that are from not western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic (WEIRD) societies has long been undervalued in psychology. WEIRD-focused research gives us an incomplete view of the human experience and the methods and approaches that facilitate it have been used to foster White supremacy.
SPSP is hosting a webinar in which experts will discuss the barriers that traditional recruitment practices pose when trying to recruit non-WEIRD samples. They will also discuss ways to implement anti-racist research and effectively sample from diverse groups. Attendees will learn how to incorporate these practices into their own work. Join this conversation to learn about the struggles to conduct anti-racist research and how the field can improve.
